What Our Client Say
Very well said, Joe. Would love to call you from India and catch up with you. You have been an inspiration to thousands of folks that had the privilege of crossing paths with you.
Joe, we could build countless high-rise towers across the globe, each filled with people whose lives you’ve impacted—people you’ve course-corrected and elevated to new heights in life, career, and happiness. You never leave anyone with a weaker smile than when you first met them. In fact, you make people from all walks of life feel better about themselves, their accomplishments, and the journey they’ve shared with you. While you may retire into a new phase of life, your legacy will echo through the lives of thousands across the world. The only issue is that your humility won’t let you see this truth.
I can see him shine through you (aka your Dad), Joe! What an incredible person, who raised an incredible son. Grateful for you, and for him – and his typing skills! You have no idea how much your post resonates with me.
Joe Slota all I can say is a GURU and was always a great help to me.
I first met Joe in the '90s when he was Executive Vice President at Philips Electronics NV. A critical success factor was having a high-performing team in a high-stakes environment. Joe called on me to help him build a team that was cohesive, resilient, and collaborative. Unlike many leaders, he chose to participate with his people in a challenging, customized group process. To my delight, Joe showed up in full force as a seasoned, high-energy, agile leader. He listened, was empathetic, and demonstrated a keen awareness of what makes people tick. I highly recommend Joe to anyone looking for a Senior Executive who brings both the Functional and Personal Empowerment sides of business. This is rare!
I've known Joe for over 14 years and from day #1 it felt like we had known each other for many more. We met while I was at Johnson & Johnson and Joe was at Deloitte. Joe's ability to connect with people and teams helps him influence the future. He's smart and experienced in work and life. Joe rapidly "reads a room" and increases speed to action and outcomes. He gets to the point very quickly, is a "straight talker", and makes sure people and organizations can sustainably take over the reins. It's wonderful to see Joe focusing on helping people at all levels be successful.
It has been a great privilege to know and work with Joe for many years. During our time at Deloitte, he served as a consulting practice leader, a mentor, and a friend. Given his combined professional and personal experiences, he has a unique ability to think through and deliver creative solutions to a variety of difficult challenges. Joe demonstrates all the essential characteristics of a wonderful coach and mentor. He is responsive, positive and a great listener. He naturally guides, coaches, and encourages his teams, his colleagues, and the people he mentors. His positive approach to work and life has inspired both me and many colleagues to achieve their full potential.
I’m proud to share that I’ve completed my Master of Business Administration at Rutgers Business School with a concentration in finance and an internship in market access & data analytics, a vital achievement in my professional journey! The past two years at RBS have been nothing short of transformational – both in areas such as technical proficiency, adaptability, and continuous learning, as well as professional communication and business presentation skills. To quote team coach and mentor Joe Slota – a personally inspirational advisor whose wisdom and direction helped propel my team and me to victory at the 26th Annual Tepper International Case Competition – as I now embark on this new phase of my career, no matter who it is I cross paths with along the way, I’ll always be sure to “treat each person I meet like they are a nugget of gold.
I got to know Joe in his Deloitte days while I was a customer in a major transformation project at J&J supply chain at the time. Joe's insights and inputs were important contributions as supply chain practice lead at Deloitte were instrumental at structuring the thinking and setting tone for the Deloitte inputs. More importantly, I stayed in touch with Joe during the almost 15 years after this first encounter. Joe always made himself available for a conversation and his inputs and insights were always direct, honest, constructive and valuable, whether the discussion was on healthcare supply chain related issues or other business or more personal discussions. His focus is on the end result, not on pleasing people or selling business contracts. I value Joe as an expert, peer mentor, sounding board and friendly support.
Does not sound like a new position ... you've been helping others by sharing the "Joe Slota Experience" ever since I've known you. Look forward to tapping into your sage advice for years to come.
I couldn't wish for a better career coach and life mentor as you Joe - and that's a lot coming from a Dutch guy to a Jersey street-boy! Despite our VERY different backgrounds, we always have been able to learn, debate and challenge each other's thinking.
Would be hard pressed to find a better mentor and advisor! Straight shooter, pulls no punches, but it’s all in a positive and helpful way.
Indeed Joe. So important to keep that balance. Thanks for the insights
Wow Joe. No one better to do this. Congrats my friend!!!
Joe visited Rutgers Business School and gave a phenomenal presentation on how to gain perspective on life and plan for a professional future. His presentation was a must-see for separating military and beneficial to all MBA students. He didn't just talk career search and prep. He discussed analyzing your roots (nature) and upbringing (nurture) to identify your character strengths and improvement areas, identifying your passions and personality in order to find a career and culture that fits your mold, and developing skills/molding behaviors that will help you achieve your target profession. His discussion on ensuring you work to LIVE and don't live to work had the biggest impact on me. His time with us was beneficial to all MBA students and extremely beneficial to career-changing veterans like me. Joe visited Rutgers
